President's Letter

Oscar Leong, President
Education and opportunity have the power to change the lives of young people. Your past support and investment in our students has played a critical part of De La Salle North Catholic High School's transformative, innovative, college preparatory education for students with limited financial means.

Our time at North Fenwick Avenue is coming to an end, and we will soon be in our new location at St. Charles Parish in Northeast Portland. Plans for the new campus include state-of-the-art science labs, a visual arts center, a vibrant courtyard and our very own gym for our award-winning student athletes. We will also have room to serve up to 350 students—significantly more than the 280 we serve now.
Our Building For Tomorrow's Leaders capital campaign represents our commitment to our vision of creating a home for capable, interested, and motivated students from underserved communities in Portland.

Our unique combination of college preparatory education plus our Corporate Work Study Program creates a catalyst for student advancement. In the words of Nikolas Tucker, Class of 2014, who went on to attend his dream school and study architecture at Columbia University, “If I had not gone to De La Salle I would not have the job I have at Bora Architects right now. It’s not always easy to get access to firms like this one. None of this would have been possible without my Corporate Work Study job and the education I received—and without the support from generous donors who believed in me and gave to DLSNC.”

DLSNC is a beacon of hope touching thousands of lives throughout our community. We invite you to join us in our efforts and to deepen your support of our unique and transformational educational model. Your participation will allow us to continue this very important work in the heart of Portlandbuilding for tomorrow's leaders!

Yours in service,

Oscar Leong
