De La Salle North Catholic High School is a member of the Cristo Rey Network, one of 24 high schools across the nation that serve low-income urban students by providing a college-preparatory education and work experience through a unique Corporate Internship Program. The Cristo Rey Network has put together a short video featuring photos from graduations all across the country. There are several photos of Portland DLSNC graduates about halfway through, and the video’s cover photo is of three boys from our graduating class.

Students from DLSNC’s Class of 2011 will be attending 32 different colleges in the fall, including our first student appointed to a U.S. Military Academy, the United States Air Force Academy.  Thank you for your support of our school!

Success! Last Saturday, De La Salle North’s Class of 2011 graduated. Over 1000 people attended the graduation at Concordia University and the educational results from the class were outstanding.

96% accepted to college/university (52/54)
     37 will attend 4-year colleges/universities: 68.5%
     14 will attend 2-year colleges: 25.9%
94% will attend college/university in the fall (51/54)
     1 will attend a proprietary school: 1.8%
     1 enlisted in the military: 1.8%
     1 will defer college until 2012: 1.8%
59% of seniors won scholarships

Student interns working in DLSNC’s Corporate Internship Program at Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) interviewed senior level managers as part of a project they were working on, drafting the questions themselves.
