What is Oregon StRUT?
De La Salle is pleased to announce our involvement with Students Recycling Used Technology - StRUT. Founded in 1995 by the Intel Corporation and Northwest Regional Education Service District, the program is incorporated into schools where students take donated computers and computer components and upgrade them for the use in schools. Students involved in StRUT evaluate, repair and refurbish donated computers and in turn, donate those computers to local schools in need, while also reducing the amount of computers in our landfills. Oregon currently has 43 schools participating in StRUT with over 23,000 computers refurbished and placed in educational programs. This progressive and sustainable effort helps students gain valuable skills with a sense of social responsibility. Recycle your computer components and another school receives free technology tools. A wise and beneficial investment for all partners! If you would like to learn more about StRUT, please visit www.oregonstrut.org.
