We invite you to become a part of our mission to provide a high-quality, faith-based college preparatory education for families in north and northeast Portland. Through your financial support, gifts in-kind, prayer, and volunteering, you can helpchange the destinies of our young people.
As a private high school, De La Salle North receives no government funding. Even though our annual tuition is only about a third of what other private schools charge, only a small number of our families can afford the $2,995/year. Through your generosity and that of others, we are able to offer 81% of our families tuition assistance, with about 55% of students receiving the equivalent of a full scholarship.
Unlike traditional private high schools, which rely on tuition dollars for the majority of their operating revenue, De La Salle North looks to two major sources to meet our goals: the Corporate Internship Program (approximately 45 percent) and donations (45 percent). All cash gifts and pledges are greatly appreciated.
Each year, De La Salle North holds two fund-raising events for student financial assistance and program support, our Changing Destinies Luncheon (April) and our Fall Anniversary Scholarship Dinner (September/October). We ask individuals and organizations to help underwrite our events to ensure that we can keep our costs low and return the most donated money possible back to the students and the school.
“From the first day I set foot in De La Salle North Catholic High School, I knew that this was the school for me. I could tell that the teachers had an interest in me as an individual, and they took the time to help us develop skills to become the next generation of leaders.
I made lifelong friends at De La Salle, and I still talk to my classmates regularly (sometimes daily!). Because most of my classmates were just like me, De La Salle always felt just like home.”
